Installation Steps

I. Preparation

Clean the inside of the windshield: Use a clean, lint-free cloth/alcohol wipe to thoroughly clean the area where the dashcam will be attached, ensuring there is no dust, oil, or moisture, otherwise it will affect the electrostatic adhesion.

Dry the glass: Wipe the glass completely dry with a dry cloth.

Prepare the electrostatic adhesive film, matching double-sided tape, and dashcam base.

II. Detailed Installation Steps

Step 1: Apply the electrostatic film to the windshield

Tear off the No. 1 release film (the white label marked BACK in the picture) from the surface of the electrostatic adhesive film.

Place the smooth, non-adhesive side of the electrostatic adhesive film flat on the target location on the inside of the windshield. Press it from the center outwards to remove all air bubbles and ensure the film adheres completely to the glass.

Key point: The electrostatic film relies on electrostatic adhesion, not adhesive. It will not fall off or leave any residue after application.

Step 2: Apply the double-sided tape to the electrostatic film

Tear off the gray release paper (adhesive backing) of the matching red double-sided tape.

Apply the double-sided tape evenly to the center of the electrostatic film, pressing firmly to ensure complete adhesion.

Remove the red release paper from the double-sided tape (exposing the adhesive side).

Step 3: Secure the dashcam base.

Align the dashcam base with the double-sided tape and press firmly for at least 30 seconds to ensure complete adhesion.

Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the adhesion is fully stable before installing the dashcam unit.

III. Key Precautions (Avoid Common Pitfalls)

Correct orientation of the electrostatic film: The adhesive side of the electrostatic film should be applied to the glass, with the adhesive side (double-sided tape) facing inwards. Never apply it backwards, or it will detach.

Bubble removal: Remove any air bubbles completely when applying the electrostatic film. Otherwise, the film's adhesion will decrease, leading to detachment later.

Avoid installation after exposure to high temperatures: Do not apply the film to hot glass immediately after exposure to sunlight. Wait for the glass to cool down before proceeding to prevent the electrostatic film from curling due to heat.

Removal without residue: When removal is needed later, simply lift the edge of the electrostatic sticker by hand to peel it off completely. It leaves no adhesive residue on the glass and does not damage the glass – this is the core advantage of electrostatic stickers.

Spare replacements: An 8-piece pack is sufficient for multiple replacements and adjustments, and can also be used on multiple dashcams.
